Late night Talk with a side of Blood

Storyteller:
It had been... you'd like to say it'd been a long time, and in some ways it felt like it but in others it felt like it was only the briefest of moments when you were kicking and screaming, running out of the hedge with the rest of the aptly named Chess Club. Mere moments after that you'd come to this home which was only barely starting to feel like home, and to a world that was vastly different and yet similar to both the worlds that you knew. You were one face among many who had managed to escape, and according to the Freehold you were relatively large as far as escaping groups go... even though the Freehold itself seemed to be comprised of hundreds if not thousands of Changelings. Hundreds of thousands of faces who had all suffered at the hands and Whims of the Keepers - and not just the Black King, but others as well whose names could go on for eternity - and they were led by four monarchs, one of which you were all too familiar with.

In the time that you had had with your motley, as changeling groups such as Chess Club were called, you all had been given a massive Hollow. Apparently, these things were vastly outside the norm and most hollows were about the size of an apartment or housing structure. Yours was the size of an estate, of which the group only used maybe a tenth of the raw space.

There was a living room with a series of couches and tables that had been fashioned from the thorns and greenery of the hedge. People used it when they wished to lounge about, but it was more of a location used to host people or socialize when the need arose. There was no television, but there was a single telephone that looked remarkably like a payphone, that had been brought in by the Winter Court after the group had unknowingly met the Winter Monarch at a local bar. There was a board that was fashioned on the wall next to it with emergency numbers for Anavel, Leone, and a couple of other names. Next to that was another board that would tell who was with who, and their intended locations. People did not leave in groups smaller than two, which caused conflict sometimes when individuals needed time for more... physical pleasures and didn't care to do such with their motley mates.

There was a kitchen that was stocked with hedge fruit and dried human food, both of which the group had parties to go and collect more of. Because it was in the hedge, electricity was not a commodity so most of the foods had to be preserved in more survivalist ways and enough food had to come in to feed everyone. The group rotated among the people on who would cook, hunt, or gather - but almost unanimously whenever Lily's turn to cook came up, people were tripping over themselves to either make an excuse to do it for her or to escape the Hallow before a fate worse than death befell them all.

Each person had their own room, and a designated room mate. These roommates did not share the same room, but rather were connected to another room by a door - a buddy system so deeply rooted that it followed them into their most private of locations. Safety, Security, and a Sense of belonging were the goal of these rooms, and each one was fitted and tailored to the individual's unique specifications.

There were other areas that had been fashioned, that still were ongoing projects. A gym with very little in the way of equipment. A library full of stolen books replicated with mirror magic that required a mirror to read. A gallery filled with paintings painted with bits and pieces of the soul. A storage where a paltry set of weapons and equipment were kept - far less than the group felt comfortable with, but enough to arm people in an emergency. Two exits, it seemed, one to the hedge and the other to the mortal world. The one to the mortal world connected - at the moment - to an abandoned car in the middle of a forested area where they could leave to enter the city. Apparently that could be altered, but hadn't yet.

And beyond that there was... space. A hell of a lot of space, that could fill any role the motley deemed if they put the work to it. Carve into the area, you might find a secret about it that you hadn't known beforehand. That wouldn't be surprising, truth be told: The Hollow was the gift of Anavel, who was a member of the Court of Shadows. Secrets were their bread and butter, according to the Freehold Courtiers.

You shared the Hallow with your motley, of course, and that Motley was filled with faces of people you'd known for years. Since High School, which was apparently forever ago.

There was Lily, the White Queen who people considered the de facto leader. In Arcadia, she'd been the most powerful of the pieces and stood by Thomas's side as his greatest warrior. She was beautiful, in the way that elves are beautiful, sporting an eternally blossoming floral crown and blonde locks, and a small frame that would not cause one to suspect her power. She had a magnetism about her, a kind of grace and charm that belonged on princesses and queens, a warm and welcoming air about her that made you feel like you could bring all of your problems to her and she would soothe them. She was also known for being a horrible cook, but no one was willing to confess that fact to her as she kept trying to improve her cooking skills with an eagerness and naivety of a small child.

Her counterpart was the Black Queen, and at the time that you had escaped, the only Black Piece that most people had known. She was the opposite of Lily in many ways, and while she would not be called the de facto leader, not a single person would ever disobey her. That kind of fear was warranted when memories of her single handedly slaughtering thousands with ease came to her mind. She was cold and distant, and hard to approach. Her raven hair fell in a straight line and her gaze could instill a chilling terror. She wasn't trusted by most, and yet Lily kept her as her 'roommate' - perhaps because she was the only one who could handle the Ice Queen. She was also the only person capable of eating Lily's food and seeming to honestly enjoy it.

There was Ross, a Rook who was ... with Victoria there, second in command might seem the wrong term. He - as well as Anthony, the other Rook - were the people who took charge when the Queens didn't. Ross had been the kind of person in High School who had been the star athlete in like three different sports. You remember he was popular with the ladies back then, and he's not unattractive now even if his priorities have seemed to change a lot since then. When he was a Rook, he was a powerful tower who crushed his foes with alarming speed and... his rage was fearsome.

Anthony was a bit cooler headed, though probably just as athletic in different areas. He had an almost gentle giant feel, despite not actually being a huge giant. Well, perhaps that wasn't true - to some of the girls he was, and he was definitely tall if not broad. He generally deferred to Ross on most matters and as of yet he hasn't needed to step up to take charge quite as often and is kind of hard to get a read on.

Sabrina was a witch, in more ways than one. She was one of the Bishops and the occultist pagan of the group, but she was -filled- with hate - particularly for Mindy, one of the meeker pawns of the group who she'd had to bunk with initially. She had very little problems telling people what she thought of them, and legitimately did not care what others tended to think of her regarding that.

Destiny was another Bishop that was ... kinder than Sabrina. A War Priest of sorts, she was an Ogre Leechfinger who back then would walk the White Paths and sap the life out of her foes, draining away their very life force while crushing them under heel, reveling in their blood. If only you could say her savagery on the battlefield was unmatched - but it WAS memorial. You remember when she beat down one of the enemy rooks - a glass girl who'd been doing well against your forces for many games. She beat the girl so savagely that all that was left was glassy dust - and even the Keeper said he could not bring her back. That shattered the Bishop: The glass rook had, once upon a time, been her best friend.

Damien was one of the Knights, and very... protective. Sometimes to his own detriment. He'd almost died when you guys were escaping because he tried to stay back to ensure others got out. How he had, when so many hadn't, was a mystery. He liked to cook and frequently tried to make the meals, especially when Lily's turn came up and seemed to be always available to talk.

Richie was... Richie was another knight, and very much a bit of a flirt, as well as a recreational drug user. Actually, he'd been the person to talk to at school when you wanted to have a little fun and escape the stresses of the world. He'd been doing well with the rest of the group, but when the Homecoming party happened and the group learned that Thomas was King and Victoria had gone into a Coma seeing one of her old memories, he was one of the people - along with Destiny, Diamond, and Max - who'd followed Thomas to retrieve her. When he came out, he tried to take Thomas's side, saying that they hadn't seen what he had - and that, along with his continued willingness to work with the Spring Court, had cost him his trust.

Diamond was a Trophy, who had fallen off the Shelf when the rest of them were escaping and somehow got tangled with them. You don't remember a shelf, but you remember stars and she feels something like that. She has no memory of who she was, but something seems to have clicked after homecoming and she tends to spend a lot of her time with Victoria now.

Then there was Artie - a pawn who was a technological genius. Shelby, who was one of the few people here who had a tie that still knew her - her boyfriend Tyler, who was a police officer who never forgot his promise to her. She was the one responsible for the gallery, and the beautiful work of art that was designed to the Goddess of Desire (who you all had met once) centerpiece in that room. There was Piper, the mousy gorger who. Mindy - or... wait, was it Mandy? She was hard to get a pin on, because she vanished a lot but Diamond seemed to love her. And of course Max, a pawn who still had a penchant for games... even despite what they'd all gone through.
Everleigh:
Everleigh spent most of her time in her room or in the library reading. She still had old habits that had followed her from her previous life though to this one. She was quiet and tended to keep to herself. She was always waiting for the ball to drop and something to happen be it getting yelled at or hit she knew not which or why really but she was hand shy to say the least.

So when the girl would actually voice her opinion on something it was a surprise to most. She was getting a bit better at speaking up when she needed to. Should arguments arise it would not be odd to see her pressing herself back to a wall and then if one was watching she would tend to fade from existence not to be seen for some time. No one really knew where it was that she went in those times and she was not open to revealing such things to the others. There was always a worried look to her eyes though as if something was nagging at her but she would never voice it.

She did not seem to gravitate towards one individual or another as she seemed to keep her distance from most of them when she could and watch their interactions perhaps trying to get a better feel for all of them since they had arrived back in this world. She was not the best cook but she did try and it was not half bad, at least it never made anyone sick. Sometimes she could be found tinkering around with a bit or bob of something in her room but never really said what it was she was doing.

Tonight she had found her way out to the sitting area and was staring off at the ceiling lost in her thoughts as she tapped a dagger lightly on her leg. She was never seen without the dagger, perhaps it was a comfort blanket of sorts or perhaps something else, she never would say. Though if anyone did try to take it from her they would be met with an Icy gaze and clenched jaw as her hand gripped the handle white knuckled.

Storyteller:
The sitting room basically meant that it was a gamble as to who might wander out. The most common people to get out of bed late at night tended to be Shelby, Diamond, Mindy, and Piper - each for various reasons that kept them up at night, be it the worn expression of nightmares they all had that some handled better or a midnight snack or the obsessive need to express ones thoughts, feelings, or dreams onto a portrait.

Those were the most frequent, but everyone seemed to do it once and awhile. Late nights that keep people awake for one reason or two. Maybe that's what he figured had happened with her, sitting on the couch as she was - that everleigh was having a rough night.

"Having trouble sleeping?" Ross said. There is no telling when he got into the room, which is surprising since he wasn't exactly the lightest of feet in the area. The blond was dressed in night clothes, which for him was a form fitting muscle shirt and a pair of black shorts - his hair a slightly disheveled mess at the moment.
Everleigh:
She jumped and her hand clutched the knife flicking it so the blade was at the ready. Eyes snapped to where the voice had come from and slowly looked him mover. It seemed like it took a few moments for recognition to settle over her before she relaxed her grip on the dagger, if only just a little. She shifted slightly in her spot as she let her eyes flit away from the boy and towards the wall before her. She was dressed in a black pair of yoga pants and a tank top with her dark curls pulled back in a ponytail. There was not a lot of difference between her mask and her mein, the cards she had been dealt having been better than most. Her fingers were a bit nimbler and occasionally a trick of light would make it appear as she if were fading some when she was not. One thing stood true though and that was the silver thread that resided at her waist just at her belt line in the back.

"Don't we all have trouble with that?" She asked as she started to tap the blade against her leg once more. "Some nights are better than others, tonight is one of the others. What brings you out at such an hour?"
Storyteller:
"Restless," He said, shrugging, "Got a little hungry, figured I could hit the mat till I got tired."
Everleigh:
"I guess working out could wear one out and help their mind find a bit of rest so they could sleep. I had thought of a walk but you know how that is."

She turned in her seat to look at him once more. There was something odd to her about having conversations with people, it was as though it was a muscle that had not been used in a long time being stretched and flexed.

"I think there are some leftovers in the kitchen if nothing else there's some jerky."
Storyteller:
He nodded and then said, "Yeah, buddy system and all. I think you could use the extra in the Hallow for a walk if you didn't have anyone to go with you?"
Everleigh:
"Maybe. I do not want to bother anyone with such trivial things. How have things been for you anyway?" She asked her head tilting as she studied him. She did not remember what many of the others looked like before they had ended up in the land of games, so she let her imagination go when it came to those things.
Storyteller:
"Same as you, probably. Frustrated, trying to figure out what the hell I want to do now that I'm back?" Looking at him, he - like Lily and Victoria - is one of the faces that might actually be easy to remember. He's not changed that much, truth be told - none of you had, at least not in the ways that shown on the mask. You could see it, if you tried hard enough - how he looked as a human. He was handsome, very much so - strong and very popular. He probably never noticed you, but you probably noticed him - talking with the pretty girls, or with the other jocks. He'd have been the Prom King if he had continued in High School, and was the kind of guy that a lot of girls would have done almost anything for just to have his attention.

To ride on his coattails perhaps?

Now, he's still handsome, even in his mein - but it's a dark, scarred kind of handsome. He was a levinquick which meant you could see the touches of lightning that caressed his skin, filling the scars that were exposed by his bare arms. He was the strongest of you all, physically, and possibly the fastest - assuming you didn't count the Queens, or any tricks other people had. He seems almost like an american version of colossus from x-men.

He was also the kind of guy who couldn't resist when he noticed someone studying him to make a comment like, "See something you like?"
Everleigh:
At his question her eyes darted away and back to the knife held in her hand. She tried to remember if he was one of the ones who she had been ordered to assassinate but there had been so many she stopped remembering exactly who they were and concentrated on just surviving. She swallowed and took a slow breath giving a little shrug as if to play it off like nothing happened. Truth is that it was awkward to say the least and she could not hide the hint of pink that touched her cheeks. Boys don't talk to her..she never remembered them talking to her anyway. Did she see something she liked? She was not even really sure..what she liked but there was no denying he was easy on the eyes...as the saying goes.

"I...well." She gave a little sigh as she tried to gather her thoughts some. " I understand the Frustrated part. I am not sure what need anyone would have of me at this time. I do not think my skills exactly mesh with what those here would want.." She chewed her bottom lip lightly.
Storyteller:
He smirked a bit watching her, and said, "Yeah? What makes you say that?"
Everleigh:
"Not sure they really need anyone assassinated" She said her eyes flickering towards him again before she shifted them back to the dagger in her hand. "Someone like you though would be in high demand. Quick, knows how to fight and hard to take down." She gave a little shrug a finger moving to brush the silver thread off her knee. "Perhaps that is something you can do now that your back. Protect this place and the people here. Seems you are fit for the job"
Storyteller:
"First, that's dumb. They have an entire court dedicated to espionage and you're talking like you wouldn't have a need," He laughed. "Second, why can't you protect the place the same as anyone else?"
Everleigh:
"To a point I can I suppose. Though in different ways from you and Damien." His words seemed to strike a cord in her but she did her best not to let him see that. She stood and started to pace a bit, the dagger always taping on her leg as she went. "I am just not used to this whole..thing." She waved the dagger around before lowering it once more. "At least there" She spit the word out as if it was bitter on her tongue " we knew what to except somewhat..even if it was just move and die or move and kill."
Storyteller:
"What? You're not used to freedom?" He asked, looking at her. "I mean, if its direction you need, then you have the us for that. Whether you go in your own direction or not is up to you, but if you need a job, feel like you are not doing enough all you gotta do is ask and we'll figure out what the group needs."
Everleigh:
"Is this even really Freedom? We can not even go out without someone else." Again that dagger waved for a moment before it started to tap on her leg once more in an odd little rhythm. There was more than a little frustration held in those words and motions as she paced once more.
Storyteller:
"That's for your safety," He said, looking at her, "But ultimately, if you do want to go - can't you? No one will stop you, it just... won't be safe. At least, not safe like here is."
Everleigh:
She paused and looked over at him, her head tilting slightly to the side. "Is it ever truly going to be safe for us again? Have we ever truly been safe to begin with?"

She sighs her hands going to her temples for a moment before she growls. "I read books, I clean, I cook...I try to keep my mind off everything and still those stupid thoughts come, then the dreams. I work myself to exhaustion staying up for nights on end until I pass out and that doesn't even stop them." Her hands drop to her sides once more and after only a few seconds the dagger starts its tapping again. "Maybe I am just stir crazy..Or crazy take your pick"
Storyteller:
"We're all trying to figure everything out and pick up the pieces of us that we still have. No, we're not truly safe and never will be - the safest we can be is when we're the greatest prepared," He looked to her and then said, "Maybe you just need something to take your mind off of things?"
Everleigh:
"What if we do not have pieces left to pick up? I don't know if I would even want to go back. If there is even a place to go back to" She paused at that last question thinking a moment. "Like what? I have done everything I can think of to take my mind off of things and it does not seem to work."
Storyteller:
"Get into a fight? Fuck someone? Get plastered on alcohol and hedge fruit?" He said, shrugging. "Take your pick, there are things that you can do to shift your focus. Healthy and unhealthy, anything's better than being trapped in your own head."
Everleigh:
She held up one finger. "I would get my ass handed to me" She held up a second finger "No one would want to fuck me" She held up a third finger and rocked her head from side to side for a moment. "That might be a valid option..I may have to check into that one"
Storyteller:
Ross blinked at her a moment, and raised an eyebrow at her. "So, for the first one, you've seen more combat than a lot of soldiers have. Chances are, you'd have a good shot at doing well, and even if you lost, it's not about winning or losing, it's about the fight itself. For the second one, again that's stupid. I could see 'I'm not interested' or some shit like that, or 'I have high standards'. But 'no one would want to fuck me'?" He scoffed, and said, "Why would you even think that? Seriously, you've never had a single soul ever show any kind of sexual interest in you or something?"
Everleigh:
She was pacing up until he asked the last question. It took her a long moment before she looked towards him, her eyes empty. "No" she said simply and softly. Those dark eyes just watched him for a long moment waiting to see what his next move would be. It was like she was sizing up an opponent on the field, waiting to see what their next move would be so they could react in time.
Storyteller:
"Literally the most shocking thing I've ever heard, and considering where I've been," He said, smiling. He looked at her, taking her in. Examining what she'd worn and how she'd worn it. Like trying to figure out did she layer herself in ten rows of baggy clothes or something while covering her face or... He did approach as he examined her, and said, "I call bullshit."
Everleigh:
She was in a simple pair of black yoga pants and a black tank top with her hair pulled back in a loose ponytail. Her eyes watched him carefully as he moved, her body shifting slightly in an almost defensive manor. "Call bullshit all you want but it's the truth. Think real hard Ross do you even remember me from school or am I just someone that was there in the hall another face in the crowd." Her brow rose slightly as she watched him her muscles tensing as the dagger slowed in its tapping.
Storyteller:
"Doesn't matter. Friends, family, the one dude in the gym checking out your ass even if he didn't know your face." He looked at her and said, "It sounds to me like it's a lack of confidence that you lack."

He shrugged a bit, and said, now close enough that if she wanted she could stab him and he could easily reach out to her. "You scared? You seem scared."
Everleigh:
The dagger stopped its tapping and rested lightly on her leg as her fingers gripped it tighter, as if the feel of it in her hand was a comfort to her in some way. She kept her breathing slow and calculated but her heart was starting to pound in her chest and she could hear her pulse in her ears. She swallowed as she watched him. "No one checked me out...no one wanted me, never have never will." The words flowed from her mouth so simply it was like she was repeating a mantra. There was an emptiness in her eyes almost as if they were dead as she said those words.
Storyteller:
He smirked and then moved in a bit closer - now close enough that, if she wanted? She could just lift the knife. Stab him in the stomach. She could feel his body heat. The sharp static of electricity "Really? Are you sure you were not just... actively ignoring it? Really, what would it take for you to stop believing that lie?"
Everleigh:
Her pulse was pounding in her head now as she stood there eyeing him. She could reach out and stab him yes..but he was a friend now right..so she should not be stabbing him or anyone here for that matter..at least that is what she told herself in that moment. "It's...not a lie." She managed to get the words out without her voice shaking too much. Her breathing started to pick up slightly as he got closer to her. "I'm not scared either...you said I was scared but I'm not" Maybe she was trying to convince herself of that? It was hard to say really. "Besides it is hard to ignore something that was not there. You can not even remember me what makes you think anyone else would or would want to for that matter"
Storyteller:
She felt his hand on her leg now, and he said, "If I moved this hand... between your legs. Underneath that set of yoga pants. Would you still say that?" He looked at her, and said, "I don't think you give yourself enough credit."
Everleigh:
Was it his hand on her leg or his words? Hard to say but something caused the hand with the dagger to jerk up in one swift move causing the blade to meet flesh. Her jaw clenched and her eyes went from empty to full of fire and anger in no time flat "Don't ever touch me without my permission" The words were hissed through clenched teeth as the blade twisted slightly. He had triggered something buried deep that much was certain.
Storyteller:
Truth be told? He hadn't expected that. That was probably fairly stupid on his part, but he hadn't. The blade sinks into his flesh, and there is a look of shock on his face at that moment. More than a little surprise? As she twists the knife, he doesn't seem to really register what it is she's saying to him - at least not at the moment.
Everleigh:
Something in her brain clicked and she slowly pulled the dagger out taking a step back. She was panting now as fear settled on her face. More like panic. She looked frantically around the room her whole body shaking. Her brain tried to register what to do...help or run....help or run. Her hands went to her temples as she shook her head a tear streaking down her cheek as his blood dripped slowly down the dagger and onto her hand.

As she pulls the dagger out, the wound worsens - the blood starts spilling out and he reaches down, to try to staunch it, to try to stop the bleeding, but a silent cry seems to be emitting from his throat as he collapses, and - unable to apply pressure to the wound - begins to cover the floor with his blood.

Re: Late night Talk with a side of Blood

Storyteller:
02/15/2020 5:53 am In a building in which twenty to thirty individuals made up the group, there were going to be a few nights where folks were woken up en-mass. This was especially true in situations where people were especially rowdy, and there had been considerations about making the walls thicker and putting alarms in the house in the event of an actual emergency so that people could sleep through loud noises and the like. Some people were getting better at it despite that. This night though, the noise that woke people up from their oneiromancy, from nightmares they struggled to control, adventures through the dreamworld, and from sweet lies they told themselves in their crafted bastions... this noise was a scream that felt very, very real.

Help! The voice belongs to one of the pawns, though she was an easily forgettable one. Emily? Leia? Something like that, the name was hard to remember but she was one of the ones that disappeared, with the strings in the back of them. There was a certain -alarm- to that sound, that cry, that was hard to fit into any kind of situation beyond an emergency one.

The sound of thundering footsteps fills the area as people seem to be stumbling out of their beds, some in pajamas, some dressed, some completely naked as the day they were born. There is another scream and ... well, a midst of chaos.

In the middle of the living room, hands covered in blood, was a single pawn. Laying on the ground was Ross, a pool of blood flowing all around him - a bloodstained knife not a foot away from the pawn, clattered against the ground as she seemed more focused on pressing down on it than maintaining the weapon that she had - up to now - kept on her person thus far.
Diamond:
02/15/2020 6:01 am *Truth be told, the hearing of the yell would usually have sent her crawling under the bed...no.. lies. she had actually always ran hadn't she? even if all she wanted was hide, she ran... towards the sound.... which is what she did now, she moved out of the bed, looking out, kinda 'teddy-bear' hugging as she had a dagger that was in a kind of sheat... mean she had been sleeping with it! better make sure... but seeing the blood... and Ross... and mean Ross was scary but... it was Ross and and and.. her eyes widened, looking around for the danger as she skittered around people to hurry over*
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 6:02 am If she heard the thundering footsteps that were coming towards her she did not show it at all. She pushed on the wound hoping to staunch the blood flow. Her eyes did not leave Ross as tears ran down her cheeks and she cried out once more. "HELP!" She bit her lip a moment as she tried to keep Ross's eyes on her. "Don't you dare think about dying...don't you do it"
Storyteller:
02/15/2020 6:05 am The Queens were not the first out, but they were definitely close. Victoria can be heard calling out, "Lily!" While the other speaks, "On it!"

The White Queen was already rushing by his side, as Victoria looks over to the pawn, and says, "What happened?"

People are looking now - a bit in shock at the moment as the realization there is a body, but not an enemy?
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 6:11 am She kept her hands on the wound, not moving until she was told to move. At Victoria's question she shook her head with her mouth opening and closing a few times as she tried to wrap her mind around everything that happened what seemed like so long ago but had only been a few moments.

"He..I...talking and he..It was an accident..." She managed to stammer that much out at least as her eyes stayed on the boy.

02/15/2020 6:12 am *Truth... she would have tried to help, but hearing Victoria call Lily... well Lily was the one who knew how to heal, so she just moved close staring around and crouched by, out of the way, but also checking around Ross and the pawn for any danger, mean, everyone was out, they were sure to fan out, so she was staying close to them, and .. and.. what? she wasn't sure, to be honest, she was still honing this feeling of protectiveness and the realization of 'I can fight!' kinda way, if you piss me or scare the hell out of me... but she was staying by, in case something came ..... accident, she blinked and stared at the girl*
Storyteller:
02/15/2020 6:15 am "An -accident-?!" Victoria says, and there is an almost chorus of calls out - demands for an explanation, people talking over one another. Lily, for her part breathed in, and said, "Keep holding this like this, I'll be right back..."
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 6:19 am She kept her hands where the Queen had instructed her not daring to deviate from the instruction at this particular moment. It took her more than a few seconds for the raised voice of the other Queen to reach her ears causing her to flinch reflexively. "Y..yes an Accident..." She dare not take her eyes off the boy for fear of what she may actually see if she were to look around her. She could still hear her heartbeat pounding in her ears as her whole body trembled while she knelt there covered in blood and tears.
Diamond:
02/15/2020 6:22 am *There is a slow blink, well she HAD had an almost accident with Sabrina once but... she moved back and just simply without a word but her hands on top of the Ever to make sure they didn't shake off more of Ross' blood out of his body, mean she was shaking almost as badly as she had herself on her first day when they all noticed her there! although for very different reasons*
Storyteller:
02/15/2020 6:27 am "Alright everyone, skedat!" Lily called as she hauled her pajama silken butt all the way back, carrying piles of goblin fruit, a knife, and a bowl. "Ross will be fine. He just needs a nice meal and he'll feel right as rain..."

"Diamond, Anthony, get them all back in their rooms." Victoria said. "Richie, come over here and help Lily. Someone get this knife?"
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 6:31 am She kept her hands where they were though at the mention of the knife her hand almost instinctively went to get a hold of it, the other staying on the wound and keeping pressure. It was the first time she had actually moved since the other had gotten into the room. No one was speaking to her so she stayed quiet for the moment as she tried to slow her breathing in hopes it would slow her heart some so it would stop her head from pounding.
Diamond:
02/15/2020 6:31 am *she STARED in HORROR at Lily mentioned food for Ross.... as it seemed it was going to be MADE by HER and then STARED at Victoria like 'don't let her!!!!' Mean Lily had the healing right? but also the SUPA POISONING!... She still did move... ah... a small breath and just gulped, before standing up and pointing to the first one* get Victoria a knife *WOOT! no stammering! and then she just went on shooing everyone Lily had not made move with her skedat... Victoria was NOT going to let Lily poison Ross, right? right? o please, be it not be cooking, please, please*
Storyteller:
02/15/2020 6:35 am "What are you doing, Lily?" Victoria asked.

"The catch of this requires food prepared by the user of the contract. So, I'm making him a nice, delicious, homemade meal."

"You really think he's got time for that?" Anthony asked, thinking something along the lines of Diamond - no matter what Everleigh had done, literally nothing was worse than eating that food. Someone went and grabbed the knife, mouthing to someone 'should we stab him again'? As though referencing that death was a better alternative at this point.

... Even in the midst of this horrifying situation, somehow folks are still concerned about Lily's cooking.

"Yeah she's got the wound set up, it won't take me long to prepare this," Lily says.
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 6:39 am Her hand searched for the dagger that was not apparently...gone, unless someone had gotten a different dagger. She swallowed hard allowing her eyes to briefly flicker up and between the two Queens before they went down to Ross once more. "you are going to be ok.." She whispered to him, though she was not sure he could even hear her at this point. How much blood could a person lose and not die? How much had he lost..Her mind circled with questions about this whole situation at the moment.
Diamond:
02/15/2020 6:41 am *Ok, taking the knife from whoever went fetch it, she gave Victoria ANOTHER 'OMG!!!!' look, but gave her the dagger, before standing up* didn't you hear Lily... OUT! *giving her voice the whole point of certainty she usually never had, unless she was scared or angry... or thinking about poisonous food...*
Storyteller:
02/15/2020 6:46 am With that, most of the people who were not high rank seemed to vanish, though not all to their rooms - some moved to say, the Gym, where they could talk about it and figure out what the hell just had happened and gossip.

Gossip. That was a thing the club never lost. And surely this would be spoken about.

"Okay, open his mouth," Lily said, having made... you aren't entirely sure what that is. Food? A liquid? Pudding? Whatever she made, it smells nice if nothing else.

Victoria sighed and said, "Richie, trade places with Lily and help her out. Everleigh, you come with me - Diamond too. You're going to explain EXACTLY what the hell we just woke up to.
Diamond:
02/15/2020 6:47 am *She looked to Victoria, then to Lilly's... potion, then to Ross, feeling a deep sense of worry and sorrow for the poor man about to be helplessly fed Lily's broth... she REALLY ... nha, if so Lily actually cared about people, so she moved with Victoria*
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 6:50 am Her hand groped but finally gave up looking for the dagger not finding it where she thought she had dropped it. When Richie came over it took a moment for her to actually move her hands from Ross and then a bit longer before she registered her name had been said and she looked towards Victoria for the first time with those empty eyes and tear streaked face. She stood and trudged behind occasionally looking down at her blood covered hands and clothes. "I need to wash my hands..." She whispered out as she followed the other Queen as she followed orders to follow her.
Storyteller:
02/15/2020 6:55 am Victoria looked at her, and sighed, "Fine. Diamond, keep an eye on her."

Bolting may seem implausible in the bathroom, but not impossible - which would tell the wizened all she needed to know about what was going through Victoria's mind.
Diamond:
02/15/2020 6:56 am *She nodded to Victoria, still quite dazed and well starting not to feel the rush of power of rar, so not talking just doing so, as she motioned Ever to the bathroom, about to follow her*
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 7:00 am Either the woman wanted her to run...to give chase or they had forgotten what it was she could do. Or maybe they trusted her not to run? Her mind was such a jumbled mess right now it was hard to tell which it was. She made her way to the bathroom and turned the hot water on full and started to scrub her hands. She watched as the blood tinged the water red, then pink and eventually it ran clear but she continued to scrub her hands harder as if there was still something there she was trying to get off. She dared not look into the mirror afraid what she might see looking back at her perhaps. "I'm sorry" She whispered out to no one particular as she rubbed and clawed at her hands.
Storyteller:
02/15/2020 7:02 am There was, at this point, the sound of what appeared to be gagging and choking.
Diamond:
02/15/2020 7:04 am *She moved after Ever, still without a word, she knew how it was to get.. sunk into feelings, but also ... she shook her head, staying but, peering at the pawn as she began whispering* Se... settle in your mind, tell Victoria the truth, then apologize to Ross *she said softly*
Diamond:
02/15/2020 7:04 am *wincing as she heard the gagging*
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 7:08 am She scrubbed her hands until they started to turn red from the process or maybe it was the scalding hot water..it was anyone's guess really. Hearing the whispering she blinked a moment and then looked to Diamond as if seeing her for the first time that night. She stared at the other woman with hollow eyes for a long moment before her head snapped to the sound of the gagging and choking. She thought to run and go check it out her muscles even tensed up to do so but she thought better of it. He would not be wanting to see her anytime soon anyway. With that she turned and slipped from the bathroom to move in the direction Victoria had gone, not expecting this to go well at all.
Storyteller:
02/15/2020 7:12 am Victoria had found herself waiting in... well, the Kitchen was the usual place for this kind of discussion. Her arms were crossed, waiting for the two of them to return and - unfortunately - you are going to have to pass Ross and Lily on the way there. You'll see him gagging down Lily's death contraption of healing, while Lily seems to be humming soothingly and tenderly caressing his hair. The poor man probably isn't sure if he's in heaven or hell, because on the one hand, Lily tenderly taking care of him - on the other....

No, that food was definitely hell.
Diamond:
02/15/2020 7:13 am *Well she was walking after Ever, just to make sure she didn't faded or.. well she was aware talking was needed, it was always talk after all, she also knew how crappy that felt... and... oi... a glance to Ross and Lily... at LEAST he was healing... *
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 7:16 am As they started to pass Ross she drew to a stop looking over at him, guilt and pain written all over her face. She watched him for a long moment, even took a step towards him, then another. "Ross..." She said softly before biting her bottom lip lightly.
Storyteller:
02/15/2020 7:18 am Ross coughed a bit, but had the coherency to - choking down the substance, gag, "What the hell, Ev?"
Diamond:
02/15/2020 7:22 am *She looked to Ross, then to Ever, then to Ross, then to Ever, she made a mental not to get him chocolate later, to pass the bad taste.... without Lily noticing, before actually nudging gently Ever* Let him get he... aled *tortured seemed like, but at least it was healing, motioning to the kitchen, her voice was still soft, but it WAS Better to get things settled, and Lily was a dove, but she was certain if Ever went near RIGHT NOW she was getting a mouthful of thorns mixed with agro- love*
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 7:24 am Fresh tears welled as her eyes flicked from each person in the room one by one as she took a small step back. Her left hand reached for the dagger that had always been there, something to tap and to comfort when she needed it. Not finding it she drummed her thumb against her leg in the same Rhythm she would with her dagger. "I..I'm sorry..I..I..I panicked..." She swallowed hard taking another step back..which she hoped was towards the door by this point because she was not really sure she was going to be able to stay here much longer. "I have never..no one's ever.." She bit her lip looking away from him as Diamond spoke. She took a slow step towards the kitchen where Diamond was ushering her after looking at Ross once more.
Storyteller:
02/15/2020 7:26 am "Come on, hurry up it's late and we're all tired," Victoria said, tapping her foot while she waited for the two.
Diamond:
02/15/2020 7:29 am *she reached, to gently guide the other towards Victoria, READY... just in case... mean... but also telling her* Step by step, talk to Victoria, let him heal, you can speak to him afterwards
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 7:30 am She winced at the tone to Victoria's voice but she turned herself in that direction and moved to the other Queen though she kept just out of arm's reach. "Yes ma'am" She said softly much like someone who had it beat into them to answer quickly and with those words.
Storyteller:
02/15/2020 7:35 am Victoria looked over at Everleigh. In a certain sense, there might be a sense of relief. Victoria was intimidating, but she wasn't, ultimately, Everleigh's Queen. Not in the sense that Lily was. Victoria was scarier than Lily, but there was a deeper emotional attachment - like the difference between being scared of consequences, and scared of lasting disappointment. The Ice Queen looked down at Everleigh, though their height differences might make that only an illusion between the two of them. She was dressed in a black shirt that literally said 'queen' over it and black pajama shorts, hair somehow perfectly done despite having just come out of bed. Above her floated a crown of gold and onyx, metallic and undeniable in her authority. It was a crown not unlike those that the Monarchs had, only hers was not mantle, but a part of her.
Diamond:
02/15/2020 7:38 am *She waited nearby, not wanting to crowd on Ever, but not leaving Victoria alone with her, she didn't say anything, she really didn't know what to say, she knew how it felt, to lash out without meaning, but thankfully her lashing out ... well she had stopped herself.*
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 7:41 am "It was an accident...I panicked..." She said glancing back towards where Ross was. Something he said had just struck her and it caused her brow to furrow. He had called her Ev..no one had ever done that before. She had been called Bitch, Dyke, Cunt even...but not a friendly nickname before. She looked back to Victoria but never met her eyes as she shifted on her feet some. "He woke up and came to the living room...I was just staring off. We...we started to talk and..well he did not believe something I said..and tried to prove a point and..I panicked.." She blinked a few times as she played the events out in her mind once more. "He was not trying to hurt me or anything just..well...he touched me and...it was ..it just happened..."
Storyteller:
02/15/2020 7:47 am "I'm going to need more than that. Touched you how?"
Diamond:
02/15/2020 7:48 am *Her head tilted, but kept quiet for now*
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 7:49 am She glanced back to where Ross was as she spoke once more "He just..touched my leg that is all. I..it was just a reflex..I am not good with being touched without permission.."
Storyteller:
02/15/2020 7:56 am "So... he was trying to molest you, and you stabbed him?" Victoria asked, to clarify.
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 7:59 am "No...it's not.." Her hands closed into fists and went to her temples as she shook her head, dark curls flicking back and forth "No..he just put his hand on my leg..I did not even think it just happened. He touched me and my hand just..jerked forward and I stabbed him. It was just a reflex. I did not mean to hurt him."
Diamond:
02/15/2020 7:59 am *That made her blink* wouldn't a well aimed punch be better?
Storyteller:
02/15/2020 8:06 am "You could have killed him," Victoria said flatly. "You almost DID kill him. What if Lily hadn't been here?"
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 8:08 am "I KNOW" She screamed before reigning herself in some. "I know I almost killed him you do not have to remind me....i know.." She said dropping her hands from her temples. "I don't know...I know a little medicine I was trying.. I could have ran but I didn't." As if that were some good deed in and of itself that she had stayed instead of leaving him to die.
Diamond:
02/15/2020 8:10 am *She looked to Victoria at that, then back to Ever, truth... she didn't know what to tell her, mean, she at least knew she had done wrong*
Storyteller:
02/15/2020 8:14 am "And that's supposed to make it -better-!?" Victoria snapped back, and as she did the full force of that Fairest glare hit Everleigh, the feeling of a chill not anything to do with anyone's mantle filling the air
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 8:18 am She visibly winced and reflexively took a couple quick steps back away from Victoria bringing her hands up protectively as she did. "no...I...its.." She tried to stammer out something but everything was just rolling around in her head like a jumble of letters that made no sense. "..I..." She frowned a moment. "I'll go.." it's the only thing that managed to stutter from her lips.
Diamond:
02/15/2020 8:19 am *As she backed and stated her vow of leaving, she moved to the door, so she could not just bolt, because going out on her own was a death sentence, mean.. it was. And she still needed to actually end the conversation, to know how she could do things better without... well being left out.*
Storyteller:
02/15/2020 8:21 am "No," Victoria said. "You don't get to run away from this. You made your bed, you lie in it. You're going to fix this, up to the point I feel satisfied."

She scowled and then said, "We'll need to talk with Ross and figure out what he wants to do from here. Jesus Christ." She shook her head.
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 8:25 am She had not been expected to be told no. She had expected to be tossed out on her ass honestly. Confusion washed over her and then that turned to dread. Until Victoria was satisfied...who the hell even knew when or how that would be. She glanced towards where Ross was and swallowed some. "..am i..permitted to return to my room" She asked in a soft shaky voice. She was not sure she was ready to face Lily yet..or Ross.
Diamond:
02/15/2020 8:28 am *She stayed where she was, but she did look to Victoria*
Storyteller:
02/15/2020 8:29 am Victoria sighed, and said, "Yeah. But we're keeping the dagger until further notice. You can grab it when we trust you not to stab someone else."
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 8:32 am She should have expected that all things said and told but the thought of not having the one thing that gave her comfort hit her hard and she stood stock still for a long moment before she looked towards Diamond noticing for the first time that she was guarding the door. It almost felt like the walls were closing in at that moment but she forced herself to breathe. She looked back towards Victoria and gave a little nod "Yes ma'am" Then she turned and started off. She paused when she reached the living room glancing towards where Ross and Lily had been.
Diamond:
02/15/2020 8:34 am *she did let her pass. Pressing her lips for a moment, then looked to Victoria* m... maybe we n.. need a .. kind of pshink... for all of us? *once she could not be heard, but by Victoria that is*
Storyteller:
02/15/2020 8:36 am "I was thinking something like that," Victoria said, "The problem is, I'm pretty sure all the Shrinks are either from the court of Ignorance or the Court of Madness. And neither seems like a good choice to help people."

Ross seemed to be doing better, even if he was being taken back to his room.
Diamond:
02/15/2020 8:37 am *she nodded, pursuing her lips, then sighed, and looked to her* I'm going to go sneak some chocolate to him... you know...*she motioned to broth*
Everleigh:
02/15/2020 8:38 am She watched as they helped him back towards his room for a moment before she rushed off to her own perhaps trying to avoid Him or Lily or both.
