An old Cherokee told his grandson, "My son, there is a battle between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil. It is Anger, Jealousy, Greed, Resentment, Inferiority, Lies, and Ego. The other is Good. It is Joy, Peace, Love, Hope, Humility, Kindness, Empathy, and Truth."
The boy thought about it, and asked, "Grandfather, which wolf wins?"
The old man quietly replied, "The one you feed."
Werewolf creation follows the core books rules. Just for a quick, -mechanical- reference, it follows as thus:
Skills: 11/7/4 (+1 Auspice) - (3 Skill Specialties)
Merits: 10 Points (Can be spent on rites, or to raise Primal Urge)
Renown: 1 Auspice, 1 Tribe, 1 Chosen, cannot be higher than 2
Gifts: 1 Moon Gift, 2 Shadow Gifts from Tribe or Auspice. 1 Wolf Gift, or (if you have two dots in renown) you can take a second facet of your moon gift.
Rites: All characters begin with 2 dots in rites.
Embodiment of the Firstborn
Notes: All characters should be created with clear, detailed NPCs. You do not have to pay for these NPCs with Allies or Retainers. You get 1 Wolf Blooded, and up to 3 Mortals. They are effectively your immediate family, friends, etc - "Pack".
Skills: 11/7/4 (3 Skill Specialties)
Merits: 10 Points (Can be spent on rites as well, or to raise Primal Urge if that Tell is taken)
One Tell (2 With Merit Points)
Rites: All characters begin with 2 dots in rites. Wolf Blooded may only take Pack Rites.
Notes: Not all Wolf-Blooded are in the know. Some are only recently becoming aware of what a werewolf is. Some - those with the raised by wolves merit - have known most of their lives. The point is, not all Blooded are going to be so in the know that they already have Pack Rites. If you choose not to take them, don't worry - you will not be charged for getting them later on.
Additionally, Wolf-Blooded PC still make clear, detailed NPCs to relate to. If you like, you may -- with storyteller approval and possibly co-creation -- make a werewolf NPC instead of another Wolf-Blooded PC.
If creating a pack, you are going to need to make a character tie - you can't be in a Solo pack made up of you and just your routine 'immediate social group'. If joining a pack, awesome, go do that and make life easier. But just in case you guys decide you want to build your own...
Step 1) Pack Aspirations - What is your packs goals? What's it's purpose?
Step 2) Pack Touchstones - What is important to the Pack?
Step 3) Pack Complications - What is a threat to the pack?
Step 4) Pack Hunting Nature (Only Applicable to Werewolf Packs) - Do you begin the game geared towards wolf, human, or werewolf?
Step 5) Pack Merits - You get 5. Work that out amongst yourselves.
Step 6) Final Touches - Work out the relationships between the packmembers - good and bad.
Note: I do have NPC packs. If players decide they want to be a part of these packs, then the game will be based around those packs and I'll help work out the exact details of the pack with you guys.
