This is where you can find the descriptions of the rooms. You may put a photo of the house your character lives in so that its known what area you live in as a reply post. Do not post mechanics: Just descriptions.

Down town New Haven gives the false impression of safety. Its old, the buildings made of stone and old architecture. They are one after another, almost on top of each other. The Highest building in down town being 4 stories. The lamp posts are of Victorian design. The side walks cobblestone instead of concrete. And seeming to always burst with activity. There are down town restaurants, coffee shops, wood shops, theaters and festive. Down town also leads to the Fish Market and thus a harbor. The sky is always over cast with the occasional spot of blue and sun, the bricks often glisten with the water that is in the air. The festive city hides a deeper rot. A Alley might feel as though the worst crimes could be committed in moments. A unaware might be robbed..or killed. But that alley might also summon, call to the passer by and though they fear the dark within go like a lamb to the slaughter.

Second Circle

A combination of art gallery and club, Second Circle is a new addition to the burgeoning nightlife scene that New Haven houses, having opened in 2015 under the care of Jeremiah Hawthorne, the youngest son of the Hawthorne clan that has been in New Haven for centuries. Tucked into the downtown area it offers those who want a more upscale experience a place to enjoy the evening and forget about the world around them for a little while.

The gallery portion of the Circle is just off the entrance to the building, showing a rotating stock of sculptures, pictures and other pieces created by local artists. A number of said artists have been granted patronage by either Jeremiah himself or one of his business associates, allowing for their passion to be seen on a grander scale than would otherwise be possible. Offices for both the gallery and the club can be found here, as well as a small corner bar for those visiting the gallery that don’t want to head into the club proper for a drink.

Getting into the club itself requires a set of stairs, lit just enough for safety reasons, that lead the visitor downwards, with the famous phrase Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate visible in glowing silver letters as they descend into the darkness. The club itself is decently sized, with a dance floor suited for seventy-five guests and enough tables to handle the crowd and then some, with the plush décor and dim lighting giving a feeling of intimacy and luxury. A faint breeze blows through the club at all times as a nod to the name, chilling the air just enough to get goosebumps going and urging those there to warm themselves up whether through dance, drink or…other things. The stage in the center is normally manned by local artists, ranging from a jazz trio playing music calling to an older era to one person with a microphone; no electronic music here, thank you kindly. Jeremiah himself performs when time allows for it, and those that have heard him sing sometimes dare to call it divine.

Quiet hallways branching off of the main part of the club lead to private rooms that can be reserved by guests, allowing for more clandestine conversations and meetings to occur away from prying eyes. Some residents have rooms that are granted only to them, the true VIP experience that causes some to wonder what truly goes on behind those black wooden doors.

Potential PC Ties:
  • Employees of the gallery/club (wait staff, security, etc)
  • Artists showcased in the gallery
  • Performers in the club
  • Regular patrons, or potentially VIP clients

What Is Known:
  • Mortal: TBD
  • Lost: Jeremiah Hawthorne is one of their own, a rising star in House Leanhaun and a man with much in his grasp. Those who wish to harvest inside the club pay a simple tax of a dram of glamour, collected at the door by security with a curious little device that the owner has been rather coy about stating where it came from.
  • Mage: TBD
  • Vampire: TBD

What Is Whispered:
  • A local woman whose paintings had been showcased in the gallery off and on had a very public meltdown in March of 2016, not long after creating what most would call a masterpiece of the art. Some say that she was driven into madness, but only she could say for certain and not a word has crossed her lips since that day.
  • Rumors of what goes on in the VIP private rooms range from under the table deals for everything from drugs to weapons and more, ultimate benders involving God knows what kinds of illegal substances and everything in between.
  • Don’t tell Griffith Hughes, the head bartender, to make you a ‘stiff drink’, and if he says that it’s something he made himself, run. It’ll put you on your ass faster than the Flash.

New Haven Academy

New Haven Academy is not the only school which exists in the city of New Haven, but it is the most prestigious, the most advantageous, and one of the only schools you can go to that seem to actually matter after you leave. The school exists upon a principal maxim - The Strong Conquer the Weak. The school is funded by the city's government with a sort of social experiment - to push students to their limits, and to prepare them for the outside world. Those who make it through the school come out as the best - the elite of the elite. They are given an almost free pass to any job they might like, and if that job requires further

If you were lucky enough to make it through the schools rigorous environment as one of the top students, your life is basically set. Any job that you might desire is open to you, and if you don't have the educational requirements for what you are going towards, you find yourself eligible for every scholarship and grant to get yourself into the nearby University - while also being permitted for work study for your paths. All that is required is you learn to cut down your opposition.

Even if you are not within the top, it's a well known fact that New Haven businesses will hire a student who graduated from New Haven Academy before any other school, local or foreign. The mark of success that follows you throughout most of your life as a sign of a person willing to struggle to reach what they desire.

But like with any location or community, it has it's secrets - its flaws. While it boasts what could easily be the highest graduation rate in the entire country, they don't tell you what happens to the people who don't make it. The failures, the ones doomed to obscurity. Because even the ones who cannot make it in the academic environment have their place in the world - and New Haven Academy will teach them that too.

Theme: The Weak Fear the Strong
Inspirations: Assassination Classroom

Anyone whose still in High School will tell you - it's a deadly environment, an urban jungle, a hostile land that only the greatest of predators can seem to thrive in. Some people forget just how ruthless the environment is - just how much many people wanted to vanish and disappear in the face of such a place. It felt pointless - a necessary aspect of your life that seemed to only exist to make you suffer. New Haven Academy takes this raw, primal feeling, and expounds upon it with a simple core meme: You need to, at all costs, not be one of the weak. Because to do otherwise can -feel- like you are putting your life on the line - your social career, your future. The biggest failures are separated from the rest of the school - a common foe for them to hate and feel superior to, and to fear becoming.

The Rumor Mill:
The following rumors are typically available to anyone with a dot or more in the associated skill as well as membership in the High School as a student. The dot reflects character interest in the phenomena - but of course, even with the interest in the phenomena you still need to have access to the High School in order to hear the rumors.

The Thirteenth Hour (Occult):
You know that the school is haunted right? Don't believe me? Come to the school before midnight. When the clock strikes twelve, time seems to stop - freeze, and hold for about an hour. In that time, it's said that the dead can be seen - and they are numerous. Be careful not to be caught though - you don't want to get arrested, or worse - be sent to Class D3.

The Dread Class (Streetwise):
Those D3 kids are weird, and not just in a 'outcasts of society' way. No one likes them. No one wants to be with them. Mess with them though, and they mark you. You remember that Tracer kid? Yeah, B beat him up because he bumped into him, and B wanted to look good in front of his girlfriend. Kid sat there and took it too, till a chick came and stopped it. Thing is, the next week B got put in the hospital. They say he tripped down the stairs at his girlfriend's place, but honestly - it was that Tracer kid who did it. I don't know how Mr. Red manages to handle them.

The Death Sentence (Occult):
I heard that apparently, D3 is a death sentence. Yeah - seriously. They take all the worst of the class, and put them in there - and they have the ultimate competition - a game of russian roulette, where the gun is your grades. No one knows what happens to the kids who get the wrong side of the ammo clip, though.

The Hidden Floor (Occult):
So - take a look outside. You notice, of course, that there are three stories, right? Well, have you ever wondered why it seems that the second story has twice the length stairs as the first floor? That's because, halfway through the stairs, there is another, secret floor. No, I don't know what the purpose of this floor is - I don't want to know. You realize no one who finds it is ever found, right?

The Principal's Sons (Politics):
So as it turns out, the Principal has two sons. First you got Mattias, who is at the top of basically everything in his class - the spitting image of Principal Alaric. Despite this, he's openly challenging to the principal, seeing the man as a rival to be overthrown. Then you got the black sheep of the family, Adrien - a rebel who I heard has his own place because he and his dad don't get along at all. If Mattias is the serious, brooding one, then Adrien is the laughable joker. It's considered a serious status boost to date either of them for longer than a week.

The V-Listers (Streetwise):
The popular boys have a little competition - a competition that is rumored by the other kids, but ultimately that no one can prove and they keep between themselves. The basic goal of the game is to take a girl's virginity and record it - the recordings are kept in a special USB drive called the 'Hall of Fame'. It's stupid and sexist, but that doesn't stop it from happening. Girl's who are put on this list are called V-listers. If your put on the V-List, you run the chance of having the video posted throughout the school - and it's a huge social suicide if that happens. Because of this, anyone on the V-list usually does their best to avoid getting it advertised - and there are often cases of girls who are pressured into further sexual encounters just to keep it private - or at least, as private as it's going to be. Whether this rumor is true or not, a common slander to a girl is to call them a member - and if they don't know the story behind it, the term is synonymous with 'ditzy whore'.

The New Girl (Socialize):
Alright, so there is this girl right who came in from out of town. Her name is Summer. Anyways, she got expelled or some shit for interfering between B and that Tracer. Anyways, that's not what's important - what's important is I saw her, at one of the tracks, getting all kissy with Adrien of all people! Someone needs to tell her that everyone knows he's just dating her to piss off his dad. I bet he wants to put her on the V-List and then dump her.
