Takes place after Time Slap Back!
It was late at night into early morning when most people slept that Lockdown received a
phone call from the trusty Guardian. The message was short and to the point. The type of
personality she had seen when he burned that abomination of a nightmare room to ashes.
She was told there was something she needed to see and to meet him at the edge of town
by the woods.
Shes pretty sure she wouldn't call him trusty. Pain in the ass maybe, but not trusty. She
answered a bit grumpy, it was before dawn after all and she had worked late last night on
paper work he SHOULD have been helping with but had found a way to get out of it. She
wasn't entirely sure he didn't mind wammy her either for that.
Okay okay, she lost rock, paper, scissors. Whatever.
Hearing the tone she made a VERY grumpy sound and said "Fine. See you soon"
Shortly later, ISH, her monster jeep pulled into the area he had indicated she meet him at.
Outside town..that meant, a short time later was like a hour and ten maybe. You know,
dressing and brushing teeth and all.
And maybe she waited for coffee, but she wasn't going to tell him that.
Jumping out of the jeep he could see she was armed, talk about trust! She wore a pair of
jeans with a holster that strapped to her thigh, steel toed boots and a brown shirt with a
Truth be told..she had not been asleep. She had been out hunting with her brother and had
stopped to get coffee.
When she arrived she would find him standing on the outside of a SUV leaning up against
it. After a while he'd figured she was just making him wait on purpose and decided to
suffer through it. It was important enough not to stand her up and piss her off more for
making him wait. There were always things to pass the time, but he would rather be
cleaning up the place. Oh well. Piss off an Obrimos and see what happens.
The Mastigos wasn't visibly armed, but that didn't necessarily mean anything. Wearing his
long coat, gloves, scarf and hat. Scarf lowered so it didn't hide his face as much as keep
Pulling himself off the SUV he turned and gestured for her to follow him to the back and
opened it up. Inside was the vampire, hogtied ten ways to Sunday and a stake in his heart
for good measure. He wasn't taking any chances with this slippery bastard.
"Is this your card?" Little magic trick. Wanting to confirm that it was the face she had
shown him in her mind before she fell unconscious in the fire.
The body within was badly decomposed as if it had been dead for a long time. The ear
length blond hair looked like brittle hay, the face was mostly brown and gray matter, lips
pulled back, nose mostly gone, decsicated.. It was gnarled and bony, the clothing was
clearly newer in comparison to the corpse in the car. The inside of the car was a mess from
the bodies decomposition: Lysol was not going to get that out. And the fluid was pretty
much everywhere that the decomposition was happening. A mix of blood and tissue now
turned fluid and it STUNK.
That was a crime scene waiting to happen. Though the results might confuse the CSI
She leaned in and put her hand to her mouth to ward off the scent and looked at him with
wide eyes "What the hell...what are you trying to pull Orion?"
That probably was not what either expected
It was pretty easy to see on the man's face that it wasn't what he was expecting either.
Eyes narrowed and the scarf was brought over his nose and mouth and would not be kept
there. Fuck, there went his ride. The most upsetting part of this.
"Take it that is not how a vampire decomposes?" He knew some stuff here and there, but
she was the expert, or at least more knowledgeable than he was. "Captured that kid you
showed me tonight. Was going to have you identify it before disposing of it."
"Eh. Depends on the corpse really. Some just turn to ash, some just look like they were
dead a short time, and some rot. Some implode, some explode. Really depends on the
vamp" She looked over and smirked "well looks like you managed to kill it."
He was quiet a moment and nodded. Reaching in he shoved the slime back with gloved
hands, now ruined glove hands, and pulled up the false floor to where the spare tire was.
Beneath it, a duffle bag he retrieved and threw behind him outside of the truck. Looking
around at the border of the woods, then at the body, he worked out a decent idea of how to
cover this up so it didn't look odd enough to be a mystery. Only problem was it was going
to ruin pretty much everything he brought.
Plan in mind, he turned to Lockdown who had been able to smirk, "Relieved?"
She shrugs "One more fang head dead, so yeah. Plus it gets rid of a common enemy, for
your cabal and mine" She eyed it then him "I can fire bomb your car and make it look like
the engine ignited, rare but it does happen on occasion. If we put the body in the back seat
you can always say it was a perp..actually might be a good idea to put him upfront move
the car and have it hit .." She pointed at a tree "That to explain the whole in the heart,
catch fire" She looked at him "Easy clean. No other dead people, BSDM rooms of hell"
Quietly he listened to her explanation and thought it through. Then, smiling beneath the
scarf, he huffed in amusement. Not horribly excited about the idea of using magic to cover
this up, but he had to agree it wouldn't arouse too much suspicion. "You know how to
dress a corpse."
A few more things were removed from spaces where tools were meant to be kept and he
was ready to play cover up.
"Do not be surprised if we end up finding someone accused of being the rose serial killer."
After all, why let a case run cold when you could frame someone. Not that he had anyone
in mind just yet.
She blushed a little not used to hearing the Mastigos say something nice. "Thanks" She
cleared her throat "I uh..used to hunt them before awaking and sometime a cover up was
needed" She watched him clear out his car.
Hearing him she looked up at him "That would require more death, let's not add more to
this guy's name it's not wise. There are options, we can either leave it a cold case OR we
can tie it with this guy. The fire will cover up the time of death, or should, as well as the
cause of death. You could always go home and call from home saying your car was stolen,
with a rose left on your driveway. They know it's been taunting us" She paused "And I can
say you were with me and we took my car to look at a lead in Nelly's Peak, would explain
why it took so long to call your car in"
He nodded at her. It made sense and the blush made him smirk beneath his scarf.
Orion shook his head, "Nothing like before. Leave it cold. If something happens for
another reason, having a ghost for others to chase would be good."
Turning from her to the vehicle, "It is not in my name." and left it at that. Jack drove
around a sedan, this was the masque's truck. Hard work went into it. Will be more sad to
see it go than the corpse lighting up like a roman candle inside of it.
"You should know, the teenager you met at dinner, now has her eyes opened. She doesn't
know about you yet."
There was one nod "alright then"
She smirked "that makes things easier, oh and for the record. I'M not moving the body you
get to do that. Put it in the front seat" She chuckled
Hearing him she looked up, then nods "Ah, well that's good. Well she will find out soon
enough huh? What path did she go down?"
Lockdown got a look at that. Making him move the body. Yeah he was used to dirty work,
but this was nastier than what he had set up for her. At least to him it was. He gestured for
her to open the driver's side door and delicately as he could, gathered up the corpse in his
arms. Hoping the clothes helped keep the body together. "She chose to be a thistled thorn
in my side."
She actually laughed lowly at that and moved over to open the door. "Look at it as
payback for wanting to tie me up in a room that you were about to set on fire"
The body was gooey but the clothing did help a bit a big glob of something fell from the
face to the ground and she made a face "Ah gross. Man he's gooey"
That made her snort "Lovely, the Warlock has to watch out for the child of faery, Id give
you advice but all I can say on that is..man, you're in for some shenanigans"
As some of the goo was indeed on his clothing, he looked at Lockdown and contemplated
putting it in her arms for her to carry the rest of the way, but saner mind prevailed against
playing 'hot potato corpse' and put the thing in place. Strapping the seat belt in for good
measure. Trapped by the life saving device. That irony would work.
Stepping back he looked down at his gooey clothes, his gooey hand, then at her. Deciding
on if he was going to wipe some on her or not for the hell of it.
She looked the scene over, not bothering to pay attention to Orion. Then she turned to
look at him "You got extra clothing? I’d tosse what you have on in here to be burned too"
She walked to her car and climbed up onto the hood, she sat cross legged and pulled out
her focus. "Go ahead and pull the car back "She motioned "about 100 feet. Then start it in
drive and shut the door. I'll take it from there"
"Yeah." A few things of his in the duffel. Among them an extra change of clothes or two.
After making sure the path was clear, he started the vehicle and popped it into reverse.
Working with the automatic transmission to get it to where she wanted it and stopping it.
Next putting it in drive, closing the door and stepping a good distance away.
During the day the surrounding woodland seems friendly enough. Its at night that its the most dangerous, the fog rolls in and visibility became almost impossible. Often there are the calls of wild, the sound of animals but never bugs, never normal night sounds. Sometimes hikers are lead astray by witch lights. And others, well they take a wrong turn and end up eaten by the parts of the woodlands that become almost marsh like. Many campers have returned telling tales of white shadow women that disappeared as they got closer.
